Winkton’s salute to the Queen in her Jubilee year

Yesterday was 5 June in the year of our Lord 2012 and despite being a Tuesday was an additional bank holiday here in the United Kingdom. The purpose of this holiday was to celebrate 60 years of the reign of Queen Elizabeth the second.

The residents of Bockhampton, being honorary members (by adoption) of the village of Winkton, were happily invited to the celebrations down the road. Despite the heavy rain many villages stoically made their way through the mud and attended this happy event where a toast to the Queen was enjoyed by all. You
